Once we arrived back from Hōryuji Temple, me and Josh had some free time, which we spent entirely sleeping.

The mother of the family originally came from Osaka to live in Nara, and so cooked us a traditional Osaka meal (which included squid and was very tasty!).

We gave each of the family members some gifts and they seemed very happy and genuinely interested in where we come from.

After presenting the gifts, we lit a candle and used some sparklers to say goodbye in true Japanese fashion.

We’ll miss you, the Ohno family!
